About
I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. My interest in digital spaces started early with video games — from playing FIFA on a PlayStation to getting lost in the menus of PC strategy games. Navigating those intricate systems planted an intuitive understanding of UI hierarchies long before I knew interface design was an actual profession.
That curiosity eventually shifted from playing to building. I began setting up anime RPG forums, customizing themes using raw HTML and CSS, and tinkering in Photoshop. Throughout my school years, I got heavily into web design, participating in various competitions and taking home a few prize placements.
When university rolled around, I enrolled in International Economics. I can't say it was a well-thought-out decision — honestly, I'm not entirely sure why I chose it — but I still managed to pull a solid foundation in systemic business thinking from the experience. While studying, I joined a student design team on a whim, eventually leading it, taking on real freelance clients, and deciding to pursue digital products full-time.
I started at a local design bureau to get some experience. For a while, I worked primarily on graphic design, corporate websites, and e-commerce. It was good experience, but eventually, I realized I wanted to build something deeper. I wanted to move away from static marketing sites and focus on complex, product-oriented things.
That shift drove the next few years of my career, eventually leading me into design engineering, where I combine visual precision with actual code.
When I'm away from Figma and the terminal, I'm usually playing video games, watching movies, or spending time with my wife and dog.
